Join us on our 7-day trip to Havana and Viñales, Cuba. We will take a step back in time to explore the vibrant Havana culture and the incredible quaint and picturesque countryside and beaches of Viñales in western Cuba. During this trip, you will spend your first 3 days in and around Havana, learning about the culture, visiting historical sites, eating and drinking at local restaurants and cafes, and strolling the streets of old Havana. After getting a taste of Havana, we will travel to the west to a quaint city called Viñales for 3 days where we will explore the tobacco farms, caves, the picturesque mountains (“mogotes”) and valleys of the national park. We will also spend time at the pristine beaches of this area, hike in the mountains, and on the way back to Havana, visit a beautiful and relaxing waterfall in Soroa. The last night and following day will be spent in Havana where you will have time shop and or visit plazas, museums, etc., that you weren’t able to visit on the first part of the trip. Day 1: Sunday,Havana, Cuba

Day 1 starts bright and early with a 6:15 a.m. flight out of Tampa International Airport. All guests must meet at the airport no later than 4:00 a.m. for check in and to buy their ($50) visa. After a short flight to Havana, Cuba, we will take a taxi to your "Casa Particular" (Homestay) check in and eat breakfast. The first day will be spent waking around Old Havana and getting to know this amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site city and home to historical writers such as Ernest Hemingway and Victor Hugo. Be prepared to cover a lot of ground, as we will visit historical sites like the Museum of the Revolution and Museum of Havana Club (rum), get familiar with the layout of Old Havana, visit a number of the amazing plazas in the city, eat amazing food and drink Cuban coffee. After a day of walking we will enjoy an amazing dinner. If you still have any extra energy left over, you can stroll around Old Havana on your own and get a feel for the nightlight, listen to live music and soak in the city' s evening vibe.

Day 2: Monday,Havana Beaches

After an amazing day wondering around old Havana, we will take a trip to some of the eastern beaches which are about 30 minutes away from the city. This will be a beach day where we will hang out or most of the day at either Santa Maria or Guaynabo each. We will have breakfast at 9 AM, pack, and leave the house around 10 AM. This will give us plenty of time to hang out at the beach. In the evening we will have dinner and then you'll be free to roam around old Havana.

Day 3: Tuesday,In and Around Havana

After breakfast, we will travel around and visit some of the major historical sites and monuments in Havana, Cuba. To make this even more exciting, we will ride around in American Classic Cars from the 50s. Some of the sites that we will visit are El Morro Castle, the Christ Statue (in Havana), the Plaza of the Revolution, the Jose Marti Monument, the University of Havana, and time permitting, we will take a stroll through the historical suburbs of Vedado and Miramar. In the evening, we will eat dinner in Old Havana and you will be free to stroll around and enjoy the amazing nightlife, street music, etc.

Day 4: Wednesday,Exploring Viñales

We will eat breakfast around 9:00am, and then take a private taxi for approximately 3 hours to your "Casa Particular" (Homestay) in Viñales, Piñar del Rio, in western Cuba. Upon arrival, we will take a horseback ride through the tobacco fields and "Silent Valley" of Viñales. Here we will learn about the crops that are grown in this areas as well as visit a tobacco house and learn about the Cuban cigar making process. After this, we will head to "The Cave of the Golondrinas" and walk around inside the cave. From here, we will begin to make our return and will finish this tour with an amazing feast an organic farm that overlooks the national park of Viñales. In the evening, you will be free to explore the town center and enjoy the relaxed vibe of this quaint city.

Day 5: Thursday,Cayo Jutías, Viñales

After breakfast around 9:00, we will take a taxi ride to a pristine Caribbean beach called "Cayo Jutías." Here you will be able to relax, walk the beach, or take a snorkeling tour. Note that is you do choose to snorkel, we recommend that you pack and bring a mask and snorkel with you. This will ensure that you have equipment that fits you and will ensure that you enjoy the natural beauties of the reef. After spending most of the day at the beach, we will return home and have dinner in Viñales.

Day 6: Friday,Return to Havana

This day will start before dawn at 5:30am with a "sunrise hike" to Los Acuáticos to enjoy the sunrise over the national park of Viñales. This is approximately a 45 minute hike up to a small cottage where we will enjoy the sunrise, take pictures, and soak in the natural beauty of this city. Then, we will return to our homestay, eat breakfast, and begin to make our return to Havana. En route to Havana, we will visit the "Prehistoric Mural" outside of Viñales as well as the Soroa Waterfall, which is approximately half way between Havana and Viñales. Once in Havana, we will eat dinner in Old Havana and you will be free to explore on your own.

Day 7: Saturday,Return to Tampa

This will be your last day in Havana, and it will be a free day for you to shop, visit places that you didn't get a chance to see, or just relax and sip on Cuban coffee all day and recover from all of these amazing adventures you had during the week. Before leaving to catch our evening flight (11:00 pm), we will have a dinner in Old Havana before taking a taxi to the airport and returning home. Dinner will be at 6:00 pm and we will need to be packed and ready to leave for the airport no later than 8:00pm.
